The vast “low country” waterways around Hilton Head are the ideal home for such famous inshore / nearshore species as Speckled Trout, Flounder, Redfish, Cobia, Black Sea Bass, Tarpon and many shark species. Our inshore / nearshore fishing trips provide you with a beautiful canvas on which to paint your angling masterpiece.
If you haven’t fished on the coast before, you might ask, “What’s the difference between ‘offshore’ and ‘inshore / nearshore’?”
At Hilton Head Fishing Charters Tale Hunter, our inshore / nearshore fishing trips focus on bays, rivers, estuaries and inlets located on the Port Royal Sound and the Calibogue Sound along the coast of the island. Our fishing holes are a short distance from our dock, so you spend more time with your line in the water and less time traveling. When your trip is over we will filet and bag your catch. FYI…our vessel is docked within walking distance of 3 terrific restaurants that can cook your fresh catch either broiled, fried, blackened or fish tacos for an additional cost.
What to expect on a Hilton Head Fishing Charters inshore / nearshore trip:
- The fish species vary depending upon the season
- We use lighter tackle and both live and dead bait
- We use a Garmin 7612 GPS, radar, sonar and fish-finder
- We stay closer to shore
- Less time traveling more time fishing
- Fish sizes are generally smaller
